Professor Welborn has truly transformed me as both a vocalist and performer. Her attention to my individual goals paired with a passionate emphasis on technique and physical/mental well-being is incomparable. It is a true joy to be her student and to develop multi-genre artistry through her guidance. 

Working with Professor Welborn has deepened my understanding of how my body functions in singing. She’s helped me explore my body map while also equipping me with resources to continue learning independently. As a result my singing has become more free and expressive, and technically solid, and I continue to improve with each lesson. Her thoughtful teaching and genuine care for me as a person have been instrumental in my growth as a musician and an individual.

After studying with Professor Welborn, I have finally been able to use my voice more effectively and for longer periods of time, and to be less distracting to the congregation that I lead. God gave me the gift of singing and now I am able to fully offer it back to Him in worship!

I came in as an inexperienced singer and came to Ms. Welborn to train my voice. In only 4 months my tone has improved tremendously. She is a great teacher and challenges her students to improve in every lesson.

A few years ago, I was ready to quit worship ministry.  Reaching out to Deedy was my last ditch attempt to keep the embers alive. Formerly, I was hindered by poor biomechanics and unsustainable imitation of other worshippers.  I had to reserve my voice excessively just to make it through service. It also hindered setlist creation and flow.  With vocal freedom, my stamina and range increased exponentially.  Instead of surviving the service, I became free to serve the moment - spiritually, emotionally and physically - to go wherever the Spirit leads.  

Deedy holds her students to a high standard of excellence while at the same time encouraging and building them up along the way. We are so grateful that our girls have had the privilege of working with such an exceptional teacher.

Deedy has been an absolute blessing. We were so pleased to watch our daughter and her voice begin to blossom and grow. Our daughter grew into a confident young lady with a love of singing and her voice continually grew by leaps and bounds.  Ms. Deedy did much more than teach her to sing. Deedy instilled in her a sense of confidence and pride in herself and her music.
